History of Our Club

omaha skating history

The Figure Skating Club of Omaha (FSCO) has over eighty years of history and skating excellence.  The club was was established in 1939 on the flooded tennis courts of the Omaha Country Club, making FSCO one of the oldest skating clubs in the United States.

The US Figure Skating Championships were held in Omaha in 1967 and 2013.  Many of our club's skaters and coaches were able to volunteer at the 2013 event to make it successful.

FSCO continues to serve the entire Omaha metropolitan area.  We offer classes at
Motto McLean Ice Arena and Baxter Arena.
We offer recreational “Learn-To-Skate” classes for beginning skaters ages 3 to adult, on- and off-ice specialty classes for advanced skaters, freestyle ice, and private lessons.

FSCO hosts two competitions in the Omaha area each year.  The Summer’s Edge competition is in June and the Omaha WinterFest competition, co-hosted with another Omaha club, is in late February.

Our club continues to grow and add to our rich history.  As of the beginning of 2020, we have about one hundred club members and a staff of eleven coaches.  We would love for you to join us on the ice and be part of this wonderful Omaha organization.
